Hi Guys...

I am travelling via Komatipoort and then up via Moamba to Quionga (on the Tanzanian border) in northern Mozambique end of July...return trip of about 7500km...

I haven't travelled through Moz in the last 4 years and was wondering as you travel north what the quality of diesel is like these days? ...and is there 50ppm available?

Thanks and God bless!!

Hi TrevMat.

Good questions. Firstly nowhere in Mozambique is 50ppm diesel available. Only 500ppm and above.

The number of new fuel stations that have sprung up over recent years is quite amazing. The rule of thumb is use the new stations as their tanks are unlikely to be contaminated.

The last time I drove the entire length of Moz to the Rovuma and back was in 2011 and no concerns about fuel.

Great trip and go well.

Mike
