We are interested in going to Inhaca, Santa Maria and the Portuguese Islands. I have contacted a few charter companies who either rent out their boats for the day or have these trips, but planned on a weekend. We would like to go on Tuesday or Wednesday and are prepared to pay max 4500MZN per person. There is only two of us and we cannot afford to rent the whole boat as were travelling on a low budget, but would like to get the most out of it. May you please recommend companies which have these trips on a daily basis.

Hi there Ngubeni and welcome to Mozguide.

The private charter companies do not run regular trips so it would be very difficult to share a boat. I recommend that you use the government ferry which does take around 3hrs Maputo to Inhaca, but is usually reliable and really quite cheap.

The Government Ferry runs on Mondays, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sundays. Always at 07h00 in the morning except for Fridays. Then goes at 12h00. The cost is 400 mts per person. These times are from Maputo to Inhaca. Coming back from Inhaca to Maputo, ferry leaves 11h00. No need to book. You just need to be there on time to buy tickets at the ferry. Ticket office opens at 6h30 and 11h30.

Go well
