Hi

just crossed a very dry Limpopo (not flowing, just pools) at Mapai on the local home-made "causeway" 3 days ago so no problems until the rains really begin in the catchment area, and locally.

As I have written in response to other queries, the really big issue for the next few months (usually to mid or late December) is not the level of the limpopo - that will be low - but rather where there is any rain in the local area which will may make it difficult to impossible to use the local roads, or cross the many small tributaries to the Limpopo.

And just one big downpour the day before, or while you are there, could turn a rough dusty and dry route into a big swamp with many difficult stream crossings. If rains don't abate then the only way could be to abandon vehicle and walk out - not kidding!

There is Nhampfule campsite 7km from mapai in the Parque Nacional do Limpopo, also Banhine Camp (not recommended until some serious renovations are undertaken), otherwise this is bush-camp alley at almost anywhere is OK to bush-camp.

Hi Carol & Husband,

Would like to thank you for the very nice chat we had at Gorongosa at Saki's Camp.
Angelique and me enjoyed the wine very much and thanks again for the advice on Ndume Park, which we visited at the end of our trip.

Thanks Again!
