Time has come to pose a question to the expierienced lol! My fiance and I are planning a trip in January to Mosambique. The original plan was to go to Inhassoro via Pafuri, but did some research and dont think it would be the smartest route (going solo, crossing the limpopo in the rainy season)
My plan was going on a round trip from Kruger – Inhassaro –Inhambane – Xai Xai – Neslpruit – Home. Only driving back on the EM1
I dont want to travel the same route there and back, and want to expierence africa off the tar round. Is there anyone out there that could suggest beutiful “africa” route from Giriyondo -Inhassoro , without having to face a river. It should be adventourous and beautiful.(Back we would take the EM1 route) So would love to know what the best route is for some doing it solo. I heard that there is new track4africa hard copy maps.. but working next to the central kalahari we are a but cut off J Any advise would be great

January is the wettest month in Mozambique which could mean a hell'uve lot of rain, or if the drought continues, just enough to make things interesting. What is almost certain is that you will not be able to drive through the Limpopo anywhere.
So on way to Inhassoro go in at Lebombo (Komatipoort) then Ressano Garcia - cross Incomati river - Sabie - Magude - Motaze - Chokwe - Guija (Canicado) - Chibuto - Manjakaze - Chidenguele (on main road EN.1)- Inhassoro. On way back go same way back to Chokwe but then turn up to Massingir and go into SA at Giriyondo then south down Kruger to Crocodile Gate - Nelspruit.
Jan is not the time to do other more adventurous routes in Moz.
Carry and drink plenty extra water as hellishly hot inland in Moz Oct - Apr.
