Thanks Amigo - are they crossing using the pontoon at Mapai yet? Also is it worth spending time exploring the Banyhine area when returning from Sango/Chicualacuala to Maputo?

Regards

Hi

Not really much to see in the Banhine unless you are into degraded pan systems and a lot of space to yourself.

Sorry for delay in updating but have been in the Wolkberg Mountains (S. Africa) out of cell and internet range for a few days. On 18 June Thomas sent me this email: "Barge at Mapai working. River still to high. Barge max tarre capacity 2 tons."

Thanks Thomas so I stil think that it could be 2 - 3 weeks before the Limpopo is crossable.

I have been to Mapei on our way back from Vilanculos on the 23rd June2010, and the river was still flowing very strong. At some places it was 1,5m deep. I'have got some photo's if anyone is interested.
