Hi there

1. We are coming to Maputo on Sunday, 1 September 2019 and would like to go over to the Inhaca Island and spend the night. Is there an absolute 100% safe place where we could leave our car? Or is there a safe way of taking the car across to Inhaca Island?
2. Do you need visas for Mozambique? We are from South Africa.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Carine

Hi Carine and welcome to Mozguide

You cannot take your vehicle to Inhaca. To arrange safe parking in Maputo contact Aldo Lupieri +258823091330.

South Africans and citizens of other SADC countries do not need visas for Mozambique.

Best advice I can give is join the DriveMoz group on Facebook.

The new government ferry called Kanyaka departs from the same jetty as the Catembe ferry and runs on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturdays and Sundays.

Friday departure is 11.00, all other days 07.30. The return trip is 15.00 every day.

First class return ticket is MT680 and second class is MT280. Trip takes 1,5 - 2 hours.
