eric99 asked the following question and I' using it to kickstart the 'Ask Mike' Topic: (see after eric99's question)

"Hi

Me and some friends want to go to Mozambique in December from about the 15-24.
I looked on your site but there are not many places for the area around Inhambane.

Where do you suggest a group of about 6 of us going? We will have a bakkie and dont mind camping but a house or something would be good.
I heard it's really busy in December so do we have to book?
We would like a nice beach with not too many people if possible

thanks"

Mike answers: The period you mention is the REALLY high season for Moz and many places will be overflowing mainly with South Africans. Not nec a bad thing if you know where to go. By now most accomm will be booked up so your best option is camping. The real rains only start in January and anyway most of Moz is a fairly low rainfall area (cyclones excepted). You mentioned Inhambane, well by end of this week Chongoene/Xai-Xai should be up on Mozguide but till then I suggest that you spend you first night at Casa Lisa 48km north of Maputo (no need to book) and then head for Inhambane and the Lighthouse Campsite for a few days: Moz mobile (Dennis): + 258 (0) 82 355959. On your way back to SA stop over at Inhampavale Lodge near Chidenguele, but book in advance as camping space is limited: Tel: Mozambique mobile (Derrick): + 258 828 8284, Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. And I could write another book, but hey life's too short to read waffle.

Cheers

Mike
